I have many thoughts on this episode I can't put into words just know it made me a little insane

this was some tasty filler. it was light and fluff filled but still a fulfilling meal. i thought it bitter-sweet ShinRan went along with Sonoko to satisfy her sweet tooth. he looked so bored now, but i bet if it was just him and Ran he would spoon feed her till she couldn't take another bite.

it's a rather empty room when nobody is in it. the front desk is on one wall, the other three walls are occupied by the chefs, but what's on the fourth wall? hmm? the. TV. screen. ;) aka the camera's perch. the writers and art department forgot to design something for the fourth wall. sound will bounce weirdly in a room with so many bizarre shapes and surfaces and substances. especially that giant fake tree in the middle.

conan.. conan was asked to work with an actual log. the bark was the weapon.. uhhh that doesn't make sense, doesnt it? I mean, wasn't there some kind of stump? OH! Could that stomp decoration on that log cake be used to hide something? I propose that the chef tried using the kid because they thought they wouldn't know much. The cake was not actually cake, but rather, an actual part of the wood. Conan was grazing wood, that's why there was woodchips. I suppose that the log was both cake and wood. Conan was probably grazing hard enough on the wood part, that the fork sank through the cake part (or maybe vice versa.) Though, I think grazing on cake and then grazing on wood would work better for Conan messing up the log pattern. Because the final cake was in slices, I imagine it was easy to take out that wood part of the cake, and use it to kill the victim.

Oh yeah, speaking of which, could the tree just be a hard dessert? That's probably how the chef got rid of it, just eating it ... or turning it into that decoration stump we saw earlier

Thoughts rn: It's an ok case. I mean, didn't that hint about the event happening once seem to not been used? I mean, you could just not do it at all, and I still think that the murder weapon would be hidden well. You could argue that it was there for others to believe that it's purely cake, but it didn't seem like anyone suspected that.
